Sociedad San José operates a "mobile school," a vehicle equipped to bring non-formal education to children who cannot attend the Centro de Desarrollo Integral Santa María Alpacoma (an educational center) due to a lack of resources and distance. Winston, a street educator known for his energy and ability to connect with children, encourages kids to join in educational and fun activities, like making nutritious juices.

Most of the children attending the mobile school come from communities around La Paz, many of which lack basic services and recreational activities. Their parents often work long hours in brick production, as La Paz is the largest brick exporter in Bolivia.

La Paz is a city of contrasts, with significant economic disparities between its areas. Sociedad San José works in the poorest areas with a team of dedicated professionals loved by the community. Many of the educators have been with the organisation for years, which strengthens their bonds with the children and their families.

Junieth Machado's visit was brief but enough to appreciate the incredible work and impact of Sociedad San José. All their staff have been trained in our playful methods of working with children on the streets. Stay tuned for future updates.
