At the end of May, StreetSmart officially launched a new Flagbag in Cotonou, Benin, in partnership with our local partner Terres Rouges. This launch represents an important milestone for StreetSmart, as it is the sixth Flagbag implemented worldwide and the very first Flagbag introduced in Benin, in the West African region.

From 16 to 20 March 2026, a new StreetSmart FlagBag was officially launched in La Paz, Bolivia, in collaboration with Fundación Alalay. During this intensive training week, 12 street educators and the organisation’s director were trained in the use of the FlagBag methodology and materials. The launch combined hands-on training sessions with real-life field interventions in both La Paz and El Alto, marking the start of a structured implementation of the FlagBag in street-based educational work.

In March 2026, a new StreetSmart FlagBag was introduced in La Paz, Bolivia, in partnership with our new partner Fundación Sociedad San José. Over the course of five days, a group of 15 participants, including educators and programme staff, explored how to integrate this methodology into their daily work with children and young people. The week combined hands-on training with field-based practice in community settings, allowing the team to directly experience how the FlagBag materials can strengthen their outreach activities.

From 23 March to 2 April 2026, a new mobile school was successfully implemented in Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia, in collaboration with Fundación Alalay. During this period, the local team was trained in the methodology and began applying the mobile school directly in street-based contexts. The implementation combined intensive training with multiple field interventions, allowing educators to immediately put the approach into practice with children and young people in vulnerable situations.

From 9 to 14 February 2026, the StreetSmart team officially launched a new StreetSmart FlagBag in Antananarivo, Madagascar. This new collaboration marks an important step in strengthening outreach work with children and youth living in vulnerable situations in the capital of Madagascar. During an intensive training week, 22 social workers and educators from four local organisations were equipped with the tools to start working with the FlagBag materials in both street and centre-based contexts.

From December 1 to 3, StreetSmart organised its first-ever Asian StreetSmart Exchange in Kolkata, bringing together coordinators from nine partner organisations across Asia and beyond. Hosted by our local partner Ek Tara, the exchange created a shared learning space focused on strengthening inclusive street work through peer learning and community visits.

This year we celebrate 20 years of collaboration between StreetSmart and IPTK–CERPI in Sucre, Bolivia — one of the longest-running and most durable MobileSchool.org partnerships worldwide.

After our recent implementations in Zambia, Uganda and Mexico, we’re delighted to announce yet another exciting milestone — the start-up of a brand-new mobile school in Mauritius, in collaboration with our new partner SAFIRE. This new StreetSmart Wheels project will strengthen the ongoing outreach work of SAFIRE, which supports street-connected children and vulnerable young people across different regions of the island.

After the successful launches of our mobile schools in Zambia and Uganda, we’re excited to announce the third mobile school of 2025—this time in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico. In partnership with our local friends at Melel Xojobal, our latest mobile school is now rolling through the streets of San Cristóbal, supporting ongoing educational outreach for indigenous children and young people.
